Northern Portugal and a bit of Spain 2008

1000km through the north of Portugal and the neighboring regions of Spain. Behind the mountains - this is the name of the northeastern province of Portugal and could be used as the motto of the first part of our tour. We cycled often through the middle of nowhere and enjoyed the primeval mountainous scenery. We got back into civilazation in the Douro region where the famous port wine is produced.

Northern Spain and Portugal 2007

Departing in Santander, we cycled through Asturia, Cantabria and Galicia, crossing over to Portugal in lovely Moncao and terminating the tour in Porto, the home town of port wine. No matter whether we went along the coast or through the inland, it was always hilly - except for the beautiful canyon in the Asturian Picos de Europa.

Sicily 2006

The tour took us 1000 km through the eastern part of Sicily. We saw prehistoric caves, ancient greek momuments, roman mosaics and baroque towns. A marvellous canyon and of course Mount Etna with its lava fields completed the list of highlights.
Not to forget the magnificent Italian food...

Pfalz/Alsace/Switzerland 2005

It feels great to stop at a glacier when cycling... After attending the birthday party of Patrick's grandma in Palatine, we hurried 600km south to Bern through Alsace, Jura and Aargau to join in Marcus' 30th birthday. After Bern the real mountains waited for us culminating in the Furka pass (2436m).
However, the most fun was the run on the Sommerrodelbahn (toboggan) near Chur. :-)

Malta 2006

Cycling wasn't the heart of this holiday. We didn't take our own bicycles with us, but hired mountain bikes on Malta. With these we explored Como and the northern/western part of Malta in three days.
